![]() ![]() But I would never create all content on this laptop. I also bought a powerbank to charge it on the move. I move around a lot, especially on film sets, and even more in the studio. It tends to be slow with junky animations and weak battery - 5/6 hours max (Laptop Go 2 should be better at these things). Personally I use the Laptop Go 256/8 (1st version). Content creation of various things is my daily life. I work in movies and now also in video games. Price range of Laptop Go 2 is a great middle ground of raw power/build quality - but is it what you need? Think about HOW you work (desk, on the move etc.). Consider Macbooks M1/M2 or spend a bit more money on a Windows laptop - it's still mostly about a fast CPU/GPU combo. TLDR You could use Laptop Go 2 for content, but you could hit its limits easily anytime - it would simply not be as comfortable. The 10th gen is looking around 8x faster than your figures, and 11th gen nearly 6x off. While this is not specific to the surface, it does prove your unattributed link is completely wrong as the peak cinebench results for sustained would be close to that before any thermal throttling kicked in. Given their current budget, I'm giving a realistic alternate for the price.Įdit: Just checking Cinebench R23 multicore results for the CPU on various sites, I'm seeing the i7-11370H at 5568-5812 and i7-1065G7 at 3615-4475, 30% difference at peak. ![]() You are probably not aware that while Photoshop and Illustrator work fine with Intel Xe, DaVinci can really struggle without dGPU with at least 4GB of VRAM. OP didn't ask for that, they want something that can run DaVinci, Photoshop and Illustrator. If the OP wants the best CPU and GPU performance for his money, then he shouldn't be looking at Surface devices. I'm aware, did you not read how I have a lot of experience with these? My personal laptop right now is an SLS. That's the much larger 15" SB3, which is not the 13" SB3 which also has 4GB VRAM, which the SLS replaces. (551 vs 1007) When I'm back at work tomorrow, I'll run the test across both and show the real results. One generation does not give you 2x cinebench performance increase with identical core and thread count even at the start of the test before thermal throttling starts. The sustained SB3 CPU performance is half that of the of the SLS ![]()
